Women’s Heritage Tea
You are cordially invited to attend the Women's Heritage Tea honoring these exceptional women: Pat Chappelle, Gay Kernan, and Lema White. The program will be at 2pm with high tea following at 3pm. Classic Films: “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?”
Classic films features the Great Divas of Hollywood's Golden Age: Bette and Kate. This week, see the classic movie "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner"(1967), starring Katharine Hepburn, Spencer Tracy, and Sidney Poitier; directed by Stanley Kramer. When Joanna Drayton (Katharine Houghton), a free-thinking white woman, and black doctor John Prentice (Sidney Poitier) become engaged, they travel to San Francisco to meet her parents. Matt Drayton (Spencer Tracy) and his wife Christina (Katharine Hepburn) are wealthy liberals who must confront the latent racism the coming marriage arouses. Also attending the Draytons' dinner are Prentice's parents (Roy E. Glenn Sr., Beah Richards), who vehemently disapprove of the relationship. Free admission, popcorn and beverage

Painting with the Palette Knife
The Llano Estacado Art Association is offering a workshop, Painting with the Palette Knife with Craig Bova, instructor, on Saturday, March 14, 1-3:30 at the Center for the Arts. The workshop is hands on and will allow attendees to try new ways to create images on canvas. There is a $10 fee for members and $15 fee for non-members which pays for supplies. AUDITION NOTICE:for the Community Players of Hobbs production of Elton John & Tim Rice's Aida directed by Douglas Levy Auditions will be held March 14 & 15, 2020 5:00-7:00 pm at Lea County Center for the Arts 122 W. Broadway Important information: 1. Bring CD or MP3 with audition song (karaoke or backing track preferred. A sound system will be provided.) 2. Copy of sheet music for audition song 3. Tennis shoes/dance shoes/character shoes (small dance audition) 4. Great acting skills ( Cold reads) 5. Great attitudes ( No drama in the DRAMA!) There will be rehearsal schedules at the auditions so those of you auditioning can fill out the conflict calendar that will be on the audition forms.
