Events for October 27, 2022 - September 10, 2022

The community is invited to "Second Saturday at the Museum: Take and Make" - a safe replacement for Family Fun Days. On Second Saturdays, people can drive up to the museum, and receive a packet full of activities for families. On October 10, our theme will be Dia de los Muertos, celebrating this Hispanic holiday that honors family members who have died. Typically Dia de los Muertos is celebrated over 3 days: All Hallows Day October 31, All Saints Day November 1, and All Souls Day November 2. A limited number of packets will be available, and it's first-come, first-serve. Each person in a vehicle will receive one packet with the option to request an extra two packets to take to someone not in the vehicle. Simply pull around the circle, stop, roll down the window, and pick up the free packets (tape, scissors, etc. needed to create the crafts are not included). Activities and crafts are for all ages, but younger children may need help from an adult. Join the City of Hobbs and KZOR for a FREE night at the movies Drive-In style! Parking opens at 7:00 PM at the HIAP (Hobbs Industrial Air Park) just west of the Harry McAdams Park. The show begins at dusk (around 8:30).  We are viewing "Grease".  Restrooms and food vendors will be on hand, but we recommend to still follow all social distancing protocols. The event will be Monday 12/14 through Friday 12/18 from 6pm - 9pm each day at the Lea County Fairgrounds. Opening event for a joint project between NM Arts, Kason Group, and Lea County Center for the Arts. This is an outdoor artwork event. We will be displaying a wonderful work of outdoor art produced by the Kason Group. As an outdoor event, please use covid safe practices and adhere to CDC guidelines. The event will also be live streamed on Facebook.

Celebrating the 2020 season and welcoming the 2021 season.  This will also be streamed online via Facebook.  New Mexico social distancing ordinances will be observed.
