Hobbs August Nites rescheduled

Hobbs August Nites will be on Friday, October 22, 2021 and Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Lea County Event Center. The event will have fun activities, performances from HMS Band, AKA to Kuro Martial Arts, Studio M, En Pointe, a Diaper Derby, Cornhole tournament, Food trucks, vendors, Farmers Market, Pumpkin Patch (free pumpkins while supplies last to kids under 12 years old), hay maze, and live music starting with The Marin Brothers, Sam Barlow, and Black Pearl Band. Don't forget to bring your lawn chair.
Sign ups for the Cornhole tournament will start at 6pm Friday October 22nd.Tournament will begin at 7pm. $25 a team there will be social doubles games. 1st place will win $350 2nd place $200 and 3rd $100.

Southwest Symphony Chamber Orchestra

The chamber orchestra will play a concert of pops music and light classics.  The trumpet, percussion and keyboard musicians will join the chamber orchestra on the pops tunes.  Some of the classical pieces will include Vivaldi's "Spring" from The Four Seasons; Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and Bach's Brandenburg Concerto #3.

A Man and His Dog

John R. Erickson the author of Hank the Cowdog will be visiting the Lovington Schools & the LCM Town Hall @ 7:00 PM to talk about his book and have a lecture and meet and greet with audience to follow. For more information about this event please call 575-396-4805

Teen Center “Open House”

Come and see what the Teen Center has to offer all children and teens from 12 - 18 years of age! There will be activities such as a rock climbing wall, skate park, basketball court, indoor volleyball, sand volleyball, arcade room and weight lifting/workout gym. Discussion and Book Signing with Robin Behl

Hobbs native, Robin Behl, will be signing books and answering questions about her new memoir “Price per Barrel: the Human Cost of Extraction" at the Lea County Museum in Lovington on Friday, Nov. 5, from 5-7 pm.  The free event will take place in the LCM Oil and Gas Exhibit located in the historic Lister Building across Central Street from the courthouse.  The book was just published by North Dakota State University Press.
